Description: The Little Brick Inn located above Cafe on the Route features seven rooms all with private baths and
televisions. Three rooms are suites and 4 are parlor rooms. Located in the old Crowell Bank
and was built in 1870. It was said the building was robbed in 1876 by Jesse James and Cole Younger.
The mother road, Route 66, passes by the cafe's front door. Baxter Springs, KS is located in the Southeast
corner of the state on the Historic Route 66. Founded as a community when John Baxter opened his
general store in 1849, the town was a stopping off place for trappers, Indians and travelers. Spring River
and the mineral water springs which gave the city its name were a natural attraction for all those who
traveled the trail west.
Reported Activity:
The building is believed to contain several ghostly spirits. An author staying in one of the suites and
reported a kind sweet feeling in the room. Another man that stayed in the same room woke up one night
with two shadowy figures in the room with him. The owner has had many people that have stayed in one of the rear parlor rooms report many odd happenings.
Personal Experiences:
Investigator 1: Heard an investigators shower curtain move, saw TV turn on by itself when it wasn't plugged in, my TV kept turning off, had my hood
pulled, was touched on the leg, and when I was trying to sleep, just as I started to doze off, something would bang on my wall or door. This
happened EVERY time and I got little sleep.
Investigator 2: Little Brick Inn was one weirdest investigations I have done in regard to the personal experiences that I had. Not
much happened throughout the evening until we were all about to go to bed. We each had a television in our rooms but for some reason
mine was the only one that worked. 2 investigators had the rooms on each side of me, and they had the hardest time trying to get their
televisions to work. An investgator went to plug his television in and it turned on before he even got the cable into the socket. An investigator's television would turn on and off with out anyone doing anything and wouldn’t respond in certain cases. Who can say if this whole scenario was paranormal or not. It was however quite fascinating to witness.
Jason Kupzyk: I did not have any that this location.
Conclusion: With the amount of evidence that we collected and unexplainable personal experiences we have to
concluded that there is definitely someone or something hanging around this b&b that wants to have
interaction with its visitors.
